Around the world there are big and small surveys of the technologies used by people who are blind or have low vision. The largest of these is conducted by WebAIM in the US, for example:

However, there is usually very low representation from Australia and New Zealand.

By completing this survey, you will help inform technology and development choices for those creating accessible web content and apps in Australia and New Zealand. It will also help us and our supporters promote appropriate assistive technology for conforming with web standards such as WCAG.

The survey will remain open until Sunday the 9th of May, 2021. No personally identifying information is collected unless you select to be contacted for future surveys or possible paid opportunities. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Results will be shared with our supporters and published as aggregated summaries in June 2021. Some high-level results will be reported during Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) in May.

Your participation is purely voluntary, and you can choose to stop at any time.

  • Please only complete if you use assistive technologies or adaptive strategies due to a lived experience of disability
  • Please do not complete if you use assistive technologies exclusively for accessibility testing or awareness sessions

If you encounter any problems completing the survey, please email atsurvey@intopia.digital with a description of the issue.

By continuing, you consent to participation in this survey and certify that you are age 18+ and are considered an adult in your country or jurisdiction.

The Assistive Technology Survey is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated. Results will be made available soon.
