This session will explore the basics of accessibility including legal, reputation and commercial reasons. There will be a discussion about all the different types of people who could interact with your digital products, and some of the assistive technologies they may use. The session will also explore disability user profiles and how they can be used to improve all the phases of your project life cycle.

Option 2: Introduction to accessibility testing tools
This session will explore the basics of accessibility including legal, reputation and commercial reasons. There will be an overview of WCAG, what it is, why it is important and how it is structured. The session will then look at a wide range of accessibility testing tools. There will be an activity where participants can use the Axe tool to a selection of sites and understand how to use this tool in real-world environments. The session will conclude by outlining ways that teams can measure the importance of accessibility issues and prioritise them for remediation.
