It is with sadness that we announce the passing of one of our team, Jessica King.

Jess was an amazing and talented colleague and friend, passionate about accessibility, inclusion and creating a better world for all people with disabilities. In Jess’ words, she was an eclectic geek herder. She was a word-nerd with several degrees and a background in English and linguistics, a tech-geek who loved building relationships with the developer community and a pioneer working with different start-ups.  As a person with an invisible disability she provided an important perspective which was highly valued by all who worked with her.

We first crossed paths with Jess as the co-founder of abilio, an app that helps make public transport more accessible for people with limited mobility. Jess joined our team in 2018 where she found fellow word-nerds and tech-geeks and a start-up company who also wanted to make life more accessible.

Jess freely and generously shared her expertise and own experiences to improve accessibility and inclusion. We valued her unique insights on disability, inclusion and the world, her positive outlook on life and excitement for everything we were working on together.

Her time with us was too short and she will be sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with Steve, her family and friends at this difficult time.
