Intopia are celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) by sharing our free digital accessibility resources! Every year on the third Thursday of May, we connect globally to celebrate GAAD. It’s an awareness day for digital access and inclusion for the more than one billion people with disabilities. At Intopia, we think one day just isn’t enough. That’s why we turn it into a weeklong celebration.

We’ve released some useful and free digital accessibility resources and made some exciting announcements to help you on your accessibility journey. Enjoy!

Intopia’s Accessibility Maturity Snapshot

Discover how mature your organisation is when it comes to accessibility. Introducing Intopia’s Accessibility Maturity Snapshot tool – a quick, self-assessment tool designed to give you an instant overview of where your organisation stands on digital accessibility.

The snapshot covers seven key areas of accessibility practice. For each, you’ll rate your organisation against five short statements that describe different levels of maturity, from just starting out to having accessibility embedded into everyday processes. You’ll receive an overall maturity score, plus a score for each key area and practical tips to help you grow.

Digital Accessibility Bookmarklets by Intopia

Sometimes the simplest tools can save the most time. Bookmarklets are tiny, browser-based tools that help you run quick checks or surface accessibility info in just a click.

We’ve put together a curated set of bookmarklets we use in our audits and research sessions. Whether you’re new to accessibility or an experienced tester, these shortcuts can help make your workflow faster, smarter, and more inclusive.

‘Guidelines on Equal Access to Digital Goods and Services’ Resource Kit

The Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission) has released updated guidance on digital products and services that meet the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) (Disability Discrimination Act). The new document, Guidelines on Equal Access to Digital Goods and Services (the Guidelines), is an important resource for ensuring technology is accessible to all Australians.

Intopia is thrilled to have partnered with the Commission on the Guidelines, which give clear, up-to-date guidance for anyone building or buying digital products or services. To assist you and your organisation in understanding the updated Guidelines, we developed a helpful and comprehensive list of resources.
