While carrying out our activities Intopia may collect, store, use and disclose personal information. We are committed to the protection of your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP), that are included in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy explains how we deal with personal information collected, and how to contact us if you have any questions about how we manage personal information.
Personal information
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified or reasonably identifiable individual, whether or not the information or opinion is true and whether or not the information is recorded in a material form.
Types of personal information we collect and hold
We collect and hold personal information about individuals for the provision of our products and services and purposes connected to those products and services. The privacy of any personal information held is incredibly important – we do not rent, sell or trade any information.
Consistent with the provision of our products and services, the types of personal information we may collect and hold include individuals’ name, address, telephone number, email address, experience and financial information. In some circumstances, given the nature of our business, we’re required to collect health information about an individual which may relate to their use or provision of our services.
We collect health or disability information only with your consent, and only where it is needed for the service, such as taking part in usability testing. All sensitive information is kept secure, and access is limited to people who need it. If any other person or company is required to know that information for an important reason (such as usability testing), you will be notified in advance so you can consent to it being shared.
How we collect and hold personal information
We may collect personal information directly from you in the course of providing our products and services, from our website and/or directly from you when you deal with us.
Personal information is held securely, is subject to various security protections and is held only for as long as the information remains relevant to the purpose for which it was collected.
Purposes for which we hold, use and disclose information
The purposes for which we hold, use and disclose information include:
- conducting our business, for example, actually providing our services to you or ensuring our services are adequately tailored to provide digital accessibility;
- to communicate information about our products and services or relevant third-party products or services that may be of interest to you; and
- for our internal administrative, research, planning, marketing and product development
We do not disclose your personal information to others unless it is needed for the purposes above, you have consented, or the law requires it. We may share information with service providers who help us deliver our services, such as cloud providers, and require them to protect it.
Access and correction
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure any personal data we collect, use or disclose is up to date and accurate. If you believe personal information we hold about you is not up to date or accurate, you may ask us to correct it.
You may ask us to provide you with details of the personal information we hold about you, and copies of that information. We will respond to your request and attempt to provide you with the data within 30 days of receipt of your request.
Please direct all requests for access and correction to our email: privacy@intopia.digital.
Overseas disclosure
We store and process personal information using cloud providers, including Microsoft 365, Atlassian and Amazon Web Services. These providers may process information in Australia and in other regions. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are concerned or have questions about the security of your personal information, you can contact us by e-mailing privacy@intopia.digital.
Website and marketing
Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how our products are used and to measure our marketing. If you subscribe to product, service or webinar update notifications, or our newsletter, we use your name and email address to send those updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email or by contacting privacy@intopia.digital.
