Intopia is hosting a free webinar on the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) on Thursday 21 July at 1pm AEST (GMT+10). The webinar will be presented by our Senior Digital Accessibility Consultant Julie Grundy. Registration isn’t required, and you can join the webinar directly through Zoom on the day.

ATAG was created by the World Wide Web Consortium to help software developers ensure that content tools (such as Content Management Systems) are usable for content authors with disabilities, and that published content is as accessible and inclusive as possible.  Julie’s presentation will focus on the key principles of ATAG and explain how it differs from other standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Although WCAG provides a useful baseline for digital accessibility, ATAG’s recommendations are specific to content creation tools and are designed to empower people with disabilities to contribute to their online environment.

The webinar will begin at 1pm AEST on Thursday 21 July. It’s free to attend, and registrations aren’t required; you can join the webinar anytime once it’s started.

If you’re unable to make it, a recording of the webinar will also be published on Intopia’s YouTube channel after the event.
